Paracas 14.03.06 - 15.03.06
back to home
Paracas is a small fishing village close to Pisco. Its at the entrance to National Reserve Paracas. Which is a desert National Park next to the sea. Also there are some Islands offshore with a lot of birdspecies, including Penguins, Cormoranes, Gulls, Puffins and many others. There are also huge sealion colonies. The sealions where fun. The young were just learning to swimm. They had one on one swimminglessons with their mothers. Learning to manouver the waters close to the rugged cliffs. We spent 2 days in Paracas. We didn´t expect much of the National Reserve itself. How interessting can dersert be. We´ve seen enough sand during our trip. But we where wrong. It was one of the most beautiful stretches of coast we had seen for a long time. especially astonishing was a stretch of red beach. From Paracas we headed torwards Lima with a stopover in Pucasana. This is a fishing village as well. But it wasn´t that great a place.
