We arrived in Nazca early morning an were greated at the Busstation by the company with which we booked our flight over the Nazca linee. After watching 1 plane move for 10 meters to turn back and having 3 people fumble with one of the wheels, I started questioning the idea of the flight. We took a different airplane than the mentioned. I was a pretty bumpy flight and there are no sickbags on board. Luckely they weren´ t needed. The lines are pretty cool. But they are not a visible as I would have expected from all the fotographs you see. You do have to search for them in the sand. Though once you find them you can see them. After our flight and a breakfast of Potato Chips (The only thing we could find at Nazca airport) we went to the Nazca Cementery. Here you have old Nazca (Preinca) graves. These graves have been looted over the years. Today they are being restored and the bones and mummys returned as well as possible. Its quite an interesting if somewhat creepy at times. After that we went to a ceramics workshop making copies of old Nazca potery in the tradional way. And last a gold refinery working with Mercury to extract the gold. A very poisionous affair. By then it was time for lunch, after which we caught a bus to our next destination Huacachino near Ica. As its only a short journey from Nazca we opted to go directly as Nazca didn´t appeal to us for the night at all. |
