Sierra Verde Express / Morretes 28.12.05

From Curitba we took the Sierra Verde Express to Morretes near the coast. This train runs from 950 meter to nearly 0 through the Atlantic Forest. This is pretty much a Jungle. It runs through various tunnels and over many viaducts.. We stopped in Morretes as the train only runs all the way to the coast on weekends. Morretes was a beautiful little town with a historical center along the river. We had a Barreado (a local meat stew) at the river before taking the late afternoon bus through the National Park (scenic route) back to Curitaba. We took the night bus from Curitba to Foz de Iguacu.
