Sucre 08.02.06 - 11.02.06
back to home
We left Uyuni on the day of arrival with the overnight bus to Sucre. We had to change one uncomfortable bus for the other in Potosi. Sucre has a large old colonial center where we spent most of our time. There were lots of handicraft-shops, museums, restaurants and bars to keep us occupied. We also went on an afternoon trip to visit the dinosaur-tracks on a vertical wall at the local cement works. Its the biggest of its kind in the world. Itīs also Bolivias most advertised tourist attraction. You can find posters for it in every Bolivian town. The museum that stuck out was the weaving museum. It was established by the local cooperative. The weaving process is very timeconsuming and looks extremly complicated.  As it is the rainy season and only a couple of roads are paved (even those a prone to Landslides bloking them) in Bolivia we decided to fly from Sucre to La Paz.
